What is the difference between Berber, frieze, and plush carpet?
These terms describe how the carpet is constructed, not its quality. Plush is a cut-pile carpet with a soft, even, velvety surface, luxurious but it shows footprints and vacuum marks. Frieze (or twist) uses long, tightly twisted fibers that resist matting and hide footprints, making it great for busy areas. Berber is a looped carpet that's very durable and low-profile, ideal for high-traffic spaces. Any of these can be high or low quality depending on the fiber and density.
What is broadloom carpet?
Broadloom is traditional wall-to-wall carpet manufactured in wide rolls and installed as a continuous surface. It's the most common form of residential carpet, as opposed to carpet tiles, which are modular squares installed in sections.
